WiL Vélez is a mixed media painter and multidisciplinary artist known for his versatile style that embraces fluidity and stark color blocking. His paintings and paper sculptures have been collected for more than 15 years.

Today, he is an active member of the arts community in New Orleans where he has lived and worked since 2016. In 2020 his art history obsession led to a degree which was then followed by a barrage of professional work experience to include fine art conservation, curating, framing, creative marketing, and photography.

As of 2023, he has returned to his foremost passion, painting, often doing so live at the gallery of Isabelle Jacopin, 829 Royal Street, New Orleans, where he also acts as curator. While better known as a figurative surrealist, he is now testing the limits of abstraction. From organic, expressive brush strokes that manifest city skylines and aerial Martian landscapes, to dancing microorganisms with elements of New Orleans architecture, his latest series of small eclectic paintings reflect the breadth of his varied interests and skillset.
