Vase Extraction emerged during a time when my thoughts were divided between two distinct kinds of transformation.
I was immersed in designing my first floor vase—a large, elegant form I planned to mold from limestone—while simultaneously facing the prospect of a bone graft in my jaw. The creative momentum was constantly interrupted by waves of anxiety about the upcoming procedure and the long, uncertain healing that would follow.
In this abstract composition, I painted three tiered vases, their shapes rising like teeth from the canvas. One is highlighted in a soft pink, a quiet but persistent echo of the affected area—a symbol of discomfort, vulnerability, and the strange harmony between physical and artistic reconstruction.
