Each painting includes a 12 x 12 in. (30.48 x 30.48 cm) acid-free 4 ply (1/16 in) mat board in cream linen with 6.5 x 6.5 in. (16.51 x 16.51 cm) square cutout and 45-degree white core beveled edge, a 12 x 12 in. clear acrylic pane (3/32 in. depth) with non-glare glazing and OP-3 UV filtering, a 1 1/8 in. (2.857 cm) profile wood frame in gold with 12 x 12 in. opening and overall dimensions of 13 7/8 x 13 7/8 x 1 in. (35.24 x 35.24 x 2.54 cm).

Eyes Clementine Nos. 01-04 (2023) takes its name from the dominant orange hues within the composition—colors often associated with heightened alertness and awareness. The blob-like organic forms reference microscopic imagery of germs. Depending on the viewer’s perspective, the eyes they contain appear to shift and combine, forming different pairs and expressions, suggesting a shared emotional or psychological network—like a collective subconscious at work.

This piece—a group of four related paintings—was created during a time when the artist was frequently unwell. Influenced by time spent observing microscopic photography, the artist sought to translate the intricate, naturally expressive forms seen under the lens into something bold yet minimal—where science and emotion meet through color and shape.This is a unique, original artwork.
