This work includes a 1 in. (2.54 cm) profile matte black hand painted wood frame with 14 x 17 in. (35.56 x 43.18 cm) opening and overall dimensions of 15.5 x 18.5 x 3/4 in (39.37 x 46.99 x 1.91 cm). It is housed between two 14 x 17 in. clear acrylic panes of 3/32 in. (.238 cm) depth. The front-facing surface contains non-glare glazing and OP-3 UV filtering.

Amoeba Dance (2023) stands apart within my body of work as the only piece rendered entirely in black pigment. A playful composition of fluid, amoeba-like forms, the piece channels the spontaneous energy of line drawing while referencing the microscopic imagery that inspired it.

Its presentation is also distinct: the work on paper is pressed between two clear acrylic panes, giving the appearance that it floats within its frame. This minimal, transparent framing enhances the lightness and movement of the forms, allowing the viewer to engage with the drawing as both object and image. Part of a group of works exploring illness, perception, and organic forms, Amoeba Dance offers a restrained yet lively counterpoint to the more colorful pieces in the series.
